Asparagus

We partner with a leading Dutch supplier to provide high-quality asparagus crowns. These crowns are large, one-year-old plants featuring robust root systems and have been thoroughly soil-tested to ensure they are free from diseases and nematodes. Each crown typically weighs around 75 grams. With proper care and site selection, asparagus crowns can keep providing edible spears for up to 20 years or more!

Crowns ensure:

  • More reliable establishment
  • Easier weed control
  • Earlier cropping
  • Higher yield years 1-3

The best varieties of asparagus are those that have been bred and selected in Northern Europe and are well adapted to our climate. We have aimed to select the cream of those varieties that have been produced by the various breeding programmes in order to provide the best eating qualities, the highest yields and the longest season for our customers.

Spring planting recommended – Crowns available early April
