Plant in a sheltered position with sun or part shade, with well drained but moisture retentive, acidic soil (pH 4.5-5.5). It is essential that the soil does not dry out in the summer or become waterlogged in the winter. Bushes should be planted 1.5-2m apart in all directions to allow the plants the space they need to thrive. Spread a thick layer of ericaceous mulch, such as pine bark over the soil, leaving a gap around the base of the stem. Our potted blueberries can also be planted in containers, these should be large, at least (40-50cm) and half filled with ericaceous compost. We recommend that you plant two different varieties to ensure cross-pollination. A single blueberry bush will produce fruit, but the yields will be higher and the fruits bigger if more than one is grown.
