Glen Mor, Raspberry

  • Early season floricane
  • High yielding, high quality variety
  • ‘Game changing’ for Pick Your Own growers

“An early season, high yielding, high quality variety with bomb-proof resistance to Raspberry Root Rot. Glen Mor will be a game changing variety for many of our PYO Growers” – Jeremy Darby

Glen Mor is the result of a floricane and primocane cross and carries benefits from both plant types including a low chill requirement and an autumn tip crop of fruit

Picking nine days ahead of Glen Ample and cropping over an extended 5-6 week period these robust, firm, large berries (5.9gm mean weight) detach easily and maintain their size over the season.
Superbly flavoured berries with high brix (9.7), a fantastic shelf life and yields superior to those of Glen Ample and Glen Carron. Spine free, straight canes with short internode length and excellent bud break.

Glen Mor carries the Rub118b gene marker which confers resistance to Raspberry Root Rot and been successfully trialled over six years in infected and flooded soil at James Hutton Institute. This variety has a very low winter chill requirement ensuring reliable bud break even following the mildest winters.
